What's new in ProfVault for job seekers (Fall 2026)

Last updated October 2026.

A job search has three slow parts: finding roles worth applying to, filling the same form for every company, and preparing once someone finally calls back. Over the last few weeks we've shipped changes to ProfVault for all three. Here's what's new and how to get the most from it.

1. Auto-fill is now free and unlimited

The core of ProfVault, the Chrome extension that fills job applications from your saved profile, no longer has a monthly limit. Every account gets unlimited auto-fill, plus free ATS scores and job matches, with no credit card. Paid plans (Job Sprint for one intense week, or Pro) add unlimited AI-written answers and AI credits for tailored resumes and cover letters.

Why the change: filling your own details into a form isn't something you should have to ration. The extension is also available on Firefox, and works in Microsoft Edge from the Chrome Web Store.

2. Review every answer before it's filled

The in-page panel now shows each answer it found next to the question, with a confidence score. Answers it is sure about are pre-ticked; anything below the threshold is left for you to check. Press Fill selected and only the answers you approved go into the form.

The extension update rolling out this week also tightens how approved answers are matched back to the page, so Yes/No questions such as "Are you authorized to work?" only take an answer from that exact question. Keep the extension updated, review the form, and submit it yourself. ProfVault never submits for you; we explain why in Is auto-applying to jobs safe?.

3. More application sites, including SmartRecruiters one-click apply

ProfVault works on Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, iCIMS, Taleo, SuccessFactors and 80+ other sites. The extension update rolling out this week adds support for SmartRecruiters' newer one-click apply forms, which build their fields in a way that older autofill tools can't see. If the extension has said "no fields found" on a SmartRecruiters job, try again once your browser picks up the update.

Platform-specific walkthroughs are in our auto-fill guides, for example Workday in 3 minutes.

4. A morning job digest

Save a search once, turn on alerts, and every morning ProfVault runs it, scores the results against your profile, and lines up the strong matches. Apply to them one by one, or pick several and send them through the batch review queue, where you check each filled application before it goes anywhere.

5. Tailored resumes and cover letters, plus a free ATS score

Paste a job description and ProfVault scores your profile against it for free, across skills, experience, education and keywords, with what's missing and suggestions to raise the score. When a role is worth it, generate a resume and cover letter tailored to that posting from your own profile. It works from your own experience, reworded to match the role's language, so review it like you would any draft before you send it. For a plan that mixes tailored and quick applications, see The one-week job sprint.

6. Interview prep in four rounds

When an interview lands, Interview Prep builds practice material for each stage separately:

  • Recruiter screen: resume walk-through, motivation and fit questions.
  • Technical round: in-depth technical questions and checks against the role's requirements.
  • Behavioral round: STAR-format questions drawn from your own experience.
  • Company round: web-researched notes on the company, with sources, and how your background lines up with what they're focused on.

Generate only the rounds you need, or get the full kit in one click.

7. Clearer setup, wherever you live

Profile setup now says which sections the extension actually needs (personal details, experience, education and skills) and marks the rest as optional. US-only questions such as EEO and veteran status are folded away for people applying outside the US, and work-authorization questions are worded for any country. If you're on a visa, you still set your sponsorship answer once and it's used on every form; see How to answer "Do you require sponsorship?".

For students

Applying for internships? We added education fields for expected graduation date, enrollment and coursework, and F-1 CPT/OPT answers. Read How to apply to 100 internships without retyping your GPA.
